OUTPUT, DEMAND AND JOBS America's industrial output grew by 0.3% in June, and is up 3.8% since June 1996. Britain's unemployment rate fell to 5.7% of the workforce in June, its lowest rate since August 1990. The jobless rate also fell in Canada (to 9.1%), but rates rose in Sweden (to 8.8%) and the Netherlands (to 5.9%).
