Culture wars on Europe
THIS week the “euro No” group, which is campaigning against British membership of the single European currency, unveiled a lengthy new list of businessmen who support their cause. But as the Yes and No campaigns gear up for a British referendum on the euro, which may yet be called in the next 18 months, their minds are beginning to turn to the recruitment of rather more glamorous supporters—footballers, actors, pop singers and celebs of all sorts.
