The Labour Party won a crushing victory in Britain’s general election, just five years after it suffered its worst result in almost a century. Sir Keir Starmer will become the country’s prime minister, replacing Rishi Sunak, whose Conservative Party tumbled to its lowest seat tally in the modern era. The Liberal Democrats surged; the Scottish National Party collapsed; and Reform UK, an upstart right-wing party led by Nigel Farage, collected its first parliamentary seats.
