Should they choose the pragmatic politician, the co-chief executive of their country, who has supervised eight years of staggering prosperity? Or what about the dreamy idealist, the policy wonk absorbed by technology and the environment? Or perhaps the sour, partisan reactionary—a brutal attack dog who specialises in ripping apart the “risky” dreams of others? Or then again, there is the panicky panderer, who changes his mind about a small Cuban boy's future just to win a few votes in Miami.
