PRICES AND WAGES Japanese consumer prices fell by 0.7% in the 12 months to June. Belgium's 12-month consumer-price inflation rose to 2.8% in July, the highest since September 1993. Italian producer prices rose to 6.9% in the 12 months to June, the highest year-on-year increase for nearly five years. Producer-price inflation in France quickened to 4.5% in the same period.
