Catch up: Tuberville drops hold; Zelensky cancels Senate briefing
The Senate confirmed more than 400 military nominations after Tommy Tuberville, a Republican senator from Alabama, lifted his “hold” on most of the promotions he had blocked for months. Mr Tuberville’s reversal, which followed bipartisan pressure, applied to all promotions other than four-star generals. His hold was a protest against the Pentagon’s abortion policies for military personnel, which he considers too permissive.
